Find all the insurance policy discounts that are available to you

When comparison shopping, many consumers are not aware of all discounts that are available to them. Not all insurance companies offer every type of discount, but it does pay to ask them about any that could apply to you.

Be sure to ask about discounts for the following items when you are comparison shopping:

  • Higher than Average Deductible
  • Multi Vehicle ( more than one car )
  • Anti-Theft Devices
  • No Accidents in 3 Years
  • No Moving Violations / Traffic Tickets in 3 Years
  • Student Driver Training Courses
  • Defensive Driving Courses
  • Low Annual Mileage ( typically less than 10,000 )
  • Air Bags
  • Anti-Lock Brakes
  • Daytime Running Lights
  • Student Drivers with Good Grades
  • Auto and Homeowners Coverage with the Same Company
  • College Students away from Home
  • Long-Time Customer

Do remember that the key to saving is not the discounts, but the final price. A company that offers fewer discounts may still have the lowest overall price.

These discounts may not be available in all states or from every insurance company.
