This free salary calculator lets you put in your job title and zip code or state and tells you what the average salary is. You can select anywhere and see what you'd get paid if you were to relocate. That's useful if you're offered something outside your local area and want to know whether it's a good offer or not based on local pay rates.

That is handy. These days I don't think people are so quick to dismiss the thought of relocating as they once were. You've got to go where the work is.
That tool would also be good for negotiating a raise with your existing boss. When you know what the average pay rate is for your job locally and can show that you're below that, you've got some ammunition for an increase.

LOL and was it enough to tempt you to move Donna? My brother in law was based in Hawaii at one point with the military and they said the cost of living was very high. Even if the rates were good you might lose out that way. Why care about that Donna, don't listen to me! I always wanted an excuse to wear a hula skirt and lei and am just jealous LOL

Savannah, anytime you make a trip to Walmart in that outfit, let me know and I'll take pictures. You could get away with it on Halloween. ;)

That's a good tool, Kay. With so much job uncertainty, you never know where you might have to accept a transfer to to hold on to your job or how far afield you'll need to look. Thanks!
