When would you not try and negotiate a better price for an item? I wouldn't do it if I was in a charity shop.

Really, greenmachine? I would LOL. I see them as being fair game the same way a yard sale would be. Now a rummage sale that was a school fundraiser, I would give what they asked. :)

I wouldn't if I was buying something from family second hand like a car or appliance. I'd pay what they wanted because I know they wouldn't cheat me.

Yeah I agree with Zoey. I think family, neighbors or co-workers would be off limits. I wouldn't like them gossiping about me! Anywhere else I think I can drive a bargain, I'll try.

When is negotiation not up for grabs? When the kids ask me for money to buy me a surprise in the dollar store LOL. It's always a small thing at a couple of dollars and I want to encourage them when they are being thoughtful and kind.

Awww. :) Now that I would agree with. I wouldn't with neighbors or bosses. Family I'd haggle with because they would with me!
