I don't know what you'd call this LOL. I cut plastic milk jug cartons in half round the middle, pierce holes in the bottom and use them as planters. I guess it's a recycling of sorts when you do something different than expected with an item. Do you do that?
Zoey, thanks for that idea. I never have enough plant pots. I always think I bought enough for the season then keep buying more sixpacks of annuals. They stay stuck in the pack until I remember to get more.
Hi keifer, nice to see you again. :) That's a great article, thanks for the link! I'd heard the CD one about using them like a scarecrow to keep the birds away. I think it's the sun catching it and reflecting the colors that scares them.
You can take an outgrown baby romper suit ( the no- leg, studded bottom style ones). This style -

Sew up the bottom of it where the legs go through. Hang it on a coathanger, unbutton a few top buttons at the neckline to loosen it enough to let you get your hand inside and out easily. Fill the suit halfway with clothespins/pegs. Take that with you when you hang out the washing and hang it on the line beside you. That makes a nicer clothespeg bag than a grocery bag.
Reusing everyday items you would normally throw away! Yes, I saw an article on that the other day on a website called lifehacker:

Thanks kiefer. My car can get very untidy very fast. The popup tissue box idea is clever for keeping it more organized. :)
LOL, I love the romper suit idea cookiefan. :) I don't have anything as good as that. I use grocery bags to line my small trash cans in the bathroom and bedrooms instead of buying liners for those small ones. A roll of liners are a waste of money when you have a drawer full of the grocery bags.
Using old CDs as coasters is a good idea. I have a set of cheap circular ones that have a rim on them. I bought a nice new mug and its base is too big for the coaster. I can't sit it inside the rim. I have discarded trial program CDs I'm going to use. Well, almost discarded LOL. They breed in that junk box I think.
Thanks for the new ideas, everyone. :) I got another planting receptacle one today. My friend drills holes in the bottom of plastic coffee containers like Folgers and gets a can of cheap spray paint at the dollar store to spray them green. She said they need to be sanded with a little sandpaper to help the paint stick better and it needs to be paint suitable for outdoors, a waterproof one.

Hi kiefer! I don't think I've met you yet, nice to meet you. :) This is I think the best tip out of those.
"The plastic bags that newspapers are delivered in make for a great umbrella bag (when you have to carry your wet closed umbrella into your office, etc."
Very clever. I hate ending up with a wet umbrella and nowhere to put it until it's dry. Thanks!
That is a good tip, the umbrella bag one. It's worst when you're in somewhere like a doctor's waiting room or on a train and there's nowhere to put it down without risking splashing someone beside you. I have lost tons of them because I put it somewhere to dry and forgot about it.
