I liked this article on 5 things we spend our money on and never use. The guilty parties in this case were exercise equipment, swimming pools, outdoor kitchens (e.g. smokers, huge gas grills etc.), wine cellars and expresso makers.
Any of this sound familiar? :) On a smaller scale, I'll fess up to a multi-tool food processor/mixer that I never use because it takes ages to clean. Every time we think about having a yard sale I swear it's going in it. Then I think about how much it was and change my mind. I should have bought a plain old mixer because that's what I needed most.
I have a bag of manure and fertilizer both sitting in the shed I bought this Spring, intending to extend my flowerbed and top it up with a mix of them both. Never happened. Lesson: dig first and then buy that stuff. You're less likely to procrastinate mixing it in then if you've already done the hard part.
I have packets of seeds lying in my kitchen drawer for the same reason, Kay. By the time I was ready to finally do it it was too late in the year to plant them. I've read seeds are fine for a year or two after the date on the packet so I'll put them in next year EARLY on planting season. My problem is I keep thinking I've got another week and put it off.
I don't have any of the high dollar items the article's on about. I do have a cupboard with several rolls of Christmas wrapping paper that I'd need ten lifetimes to use up. I can't resist when it gets down to 80% off in the sales LOL. One of these years I'll hand it in to a charity shop BEFORE Christmas. :)

Just resist the temptation for the next couple of years and wrap the gifts in it, silly! :) Or give it to friends like me who leave the buying of wrapping paper until the very last minute. I had to call my sister on Christmas Eve once when I suddenly realized I wasn't going to have enough. No way was I hitting the stores then. Luckily she's a hoarder of that stuff too like you. :)
