No joke. Ryanair is considering it, according to CNN. What next, oxygen? Charging for storing your carry-on luggage is ridiculous too.
(CNN) -- Traveler outrage grows with each new airline fee, and this week's air travel chatter has fliers wondering how many more ways the airlines can devise to nickel and dime passengers.
Discount carrier Spirit Airlines announced Tuesday that it would charge passengers for carry-on luggage stowed in overhead bins. European low-cost airline Ryanair has generated buzz with an article in its in-flight magazine outlining a toilet fee on flights of an hour or less, a proposal introduced last year that many industry watchers considered a clever public relations stunt.
Passengers don't seem to be amused, although Ryanair's toilet tax has generated plenty of sarcastic potty humor among CNN.com readers. But in all seriousness, some travelers say certain amenities should be included in the fare.

Maybe I could just threaten to wet my seat if they didn't let me use it. I bet cleaning that upholstery would cost more than keeping the toilet free of charge LOL.
In case I don't have an extra buck on me to spend in the restroom, I suppose that a back-up plan would include an extra zip-lock bag or two stowed in my carry-on baggage just in case.
LOL, gross! Don't forget to pack some toilet paper as well.

I think I'd be reading up on the laws about public urination before I resorted to that. ;)
Mental note: never fly with purplerain sitting next to me. ;)
This is ridiculous though. I mean the recession has to have affected them too of course with people cutting vacations and trips, but why do us passengers need to bear the brunt of this with these crazy fees?
They're doing what every company does that has a captive audience and can get away with it. Hiking prices when they feel like it. It's not like you're going to choose a bus over a plane.
Be happy! Some good news for a change.
Washington (CNN) -- Sen. Charles Schumer announced Sunday that several major airlines have promised not to charge passengers for carry-on baggage.
Schumer, D-New York, said he personally contacted officials at American Airlines, Delta Airlines, JetBlue, United Airlines and US Airways, and secured commitments from all five companies.

Thanks Zoey! They'll need to be more ingenious now I guess in finding another avenue. :)
