Just don't do it with anything too precious, pennywise. I did that with a CD once and it stopped working. I lost pics that would have been safer on my computer. Of course, my hard drive could have failed too and I'd have lost them. It's a good idea to also back them up online if they are precious so you can retrieve a copy. There's several image storage sites that are free.
