Remember you can also often get special deals on the day that aren't announced beforehand. The promise is that the gifts would arrive in time for Christmas. On Friday, December 17, more than 1,000 participating merchants will offer free shipping with delivery by Christmas Eve in the continental United States.
All Free Shipping Day offers will be revealed on this web site at 12:00am EST on Friday, December 17, 2010.
Over 60% of participating merchants are offering free shipping on all orders.

If I remember right there was a rush of merchants that appeared on that list at the last minute in previous years. If you don't see your favorite retailer yet it doesn't mean they won't be on the list when the day comes. Thanks cookiefan!

I am seriously hoping I have every single thing I need by the weekend. Christmas week out there in the malls and stores? Nightmare time. I'll do a checklist on Thursday night in case I need free shipping day! That's the plan anyway.
