About the closest I get to fiber is when I'm doing laundry. Oh, not those kinds of fiber? ;) The other kind I see even less of. I'll try this and see if it's palatable. My diet definitely needs more than I include now.

I eat raisin bran once in a blue moon. I think beans count as fiber too, don't they? Or maybe just certain kinds do. I'll be grown up and try this for the good of my health LOL. I hear it's not bad. Thanks Kay!

Beans are a good source of fiber. Not nice for the folks that live with you, but good for your digestive system. ;) Thank you Kay. I'll get that. Beans take too long with all that overnight soaking.

LOL! Turnip greens are lethal compared to beans. Just for the record. :) Thank you Kay!

I never soak northern beans when I cook them, frazzledmom. I rinse them off well, discard all the bad ones and stones, then cook them in the crockpot for three to four hours on high, depending on how much I'm making. Cover them with ham stock until it's about an inch and a half above the top of the uncooked beans and leave them be apart from the occasional stir. You can turn them down low after they get soft and thicken up a little.

Thanks Kay! I'll try that. :)

Lentils are a good source of fiber too. A pot of ham and lentil soup with french bread is fantastic when you're coming in out of the cold.

When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a rose with the other.

I couldn't tell you the last time I had ham and lentil soup and I love it too. It's now on the grocery list. Lentils are a good buy too!

I'm glad to see this isn't finished. Anything that's going to help me shed a couple of pounds is good and fiber helps speed food through your digestive system. Thank you Kay. :)
