This NYTimes article shows how much of a problem it is securing affordable child care in many states.

It's tough if you don't have family or friends willing to do it on the cheap. The system isn't right when you have to go on welfare to get to the top of the waiting list for subsidized child care.

No it is not right, I agree with you. They want moms to work and make it difficult to do so by not providing childcare that doesn't eat up your earnings. I can understand why some moms throw up their hands and say why bother. It's like working full time and being paid part time wages.

It would drive me crazy not to work at least part-time. Moms need a break from the house and the kids. I do anyway. I need to talk about something other than Spongebob LOL.
