If you're near there and want to have a good meal in a fancy restaurant but not at fancy prices, this is the week to do that.
Boston's winter Restaurant Week kicks off tomorrow, and frugal diners are not the only ones looking forward to the event. Restaurants, hungry for business, have signed on in record numbers this season: 224 establishments are participating, up from 176 last winter.
The semiannual promotion, offering three-course lunches this season for $20.09 and dinners for $33.09, has been an effective way to draw customers in the past and, restaurateurs hope, to persuade people trying a place for the first time to return.

Thanks for the link, bringmeroses. :) The last time I was in a fancy restaurant was in nineteen eighty something LOL. Those sound like bargains for the area though. I baulk at paying money for a fancy meal. It never ends up costing the price of the meal alone because I never feel I have anything to wear to places like that. Snooty waiters, light clothing and red wine in close proximity, and too quiet diners make me edgy. :)
