I don't know what to do with uncooked pulses and beans really. This guide is great. They are so cheap too!

When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a rose with the other.

Thanks bringmeroses. :) Beyond northern beans and lentils, I'm clueless. I enjoy canned blackeyed peas and wondered how hard they would be to make from dried.

That puts me in the mood for a big pot of BBQ beans. With crusty bread on the side, you can't go wrong. Thank you bringmeroses! :)

With beans you have to watch them on your first attempt. They don't need checked every five minutes, but they will turn to mush if you overcook them. Until you have the cooking times worked out, check them regularly. Not all crockpots cook at the same rate. I found my round one cooked beans much faster than my oval one did and I was making the same quantities.
Thanks!

I was just thinking: how do you make refried beans? Those are the kind of beans I buy most canned, for burritos.
